AL BARTH, Vice President, Global Catalyst
Al is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church In America and one of the founders of Redeemer City to City. Having planted four churches over his pastoral career, he understands first hand the challenges and needs of church planters, their churches, and networks. He has served as a coach, trainer and mentor for many global church planters. He oversees the CTC work in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
He and his wife, Rene, have three adult children and are grandparents to ten grandchildren.
YUCAN CHIU, Vice President of Movement Strategic Services
Yucan leads the Movement Strategic Services team to strengthen and steward City to City’s ecosystem of global leaders by cultivating strong relationships, facilitating dialogue between different perspectives, and synthesizing strategies that support, catalyze, and sustain collaboration for city-wide gospel movements.
Born in Chicago to parents of Chinese descent, Yucan Chiu came to understand and experience Jesus in his teenage years while in California. He has been a lead planter and pastor for twenty years, and also the founding director of a church planting network called the Ethnos Network - a decentralized, multiethnic, global network focused on the urban areas next to major universities.
Adept at creating tables to bring varying diverse people together for Kingdom movement, Yucan has collaborated with various leaders, communities, and organizations in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and the United States. He holds degrees in sociology, biology, and theology, and did his doctoral work with the late urban missiologist, Ray Bakke.
Yucan has been married for over 21 years with Dr. Yen-Yen Chiu, a DEI specialist in public education, and has two teenage daughters. In his free time, he enjoys sports, visual arts, travel, local food, and nature trekking.
DIANA DENIS, Manager, Grant Administration
After a transformational year enrolled in our City Ministry Program, Diana is thrilled to join CTC as Global Field Operations Coordinator.
A lifelong New Yorker, Diana joins us with over 20 years of project management and strategic planning experience in both the private and non-profit sectors. One of the highlights of her career includes rebuilding homes and churches following Superstorm Sandy.
Diana is a wife of nearly 29 years, mother of three, the founder of Anchored Woman, LLC (an event-based Bible study community where women are equipped to engage God’s Word through creative Bible Journaling) and lover of classic movies.
MICHEL DUARTE, Relationship Manager and City Strategist
Michel was born and raised in Brazil, but has spent over half of his life living in other countries (such as Paraguay, the UK, Turkey, and the USA) to follow a calling from the Lord. He is passionate about using his gifts of language and cross-cultural communication to connect people to God and each other so that they may flourish.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism (Arizona State University), and a master’s degree in Missional Theology (Covenant Theological Seminary, Missional Training Center). He has been married for over 16 years to Julie, and together they have a 13 year old daughter and an 11 year old son. They love being active outdoors and spending time with friends and family. In addition to serving as the Missions Pastor for Redemption Church in Tempe, AZ, Michel also works for Redeemer City to City, and serves at the Surge Network and Daniel Initiative.
LAUREN GILL, Senior Director, Global Faith and Work Initiative
A Kentucky native, Lauren moved to New York City to study acting and journalism at New York University. As an actress, Lauren has performed widely, from London to Off Broadway to Amish country, in pieces ranging from biblical musicals to Shakespeare’s classics.
Lauren has a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York. She founded and operates The Redemptive Pursuit, a weekly devotional series for women. She is a graduate of the 2010 Gotham Fellowship class and has been working at Faith & Work since 2013. Having lived in the city for over a decade now, Lauren and her husband, Suneel, love exploring NYC’s culinary options. They live in Harlem.
RACHEL OJO, Assistant Director, Movement Strategic Services
Rachel Ojo, the daughter of Nigerian immigrants, brings over a decade of experience in building collaborative relationships in the nonprofit, government, and philanthropic sectors. After college, she moved to Guadalajara, Mexico where she served as a missionary and co-led campus ministry and outreach across the city. Now Rachel works to strengthen and steward City to City's ecosystem of global leaders by cultivating strong relationships, facilitating dialogue between different perspectives, and synthesizing strategies.
Rachel’s curiosity for people and their journeys also fuels her passion for stories in film, literature, and the people in her community. In response to 2016’s racial unrest, she founded The Whole Story, a platform that cultivates and celebrates Black narratives.
Rachel holds a degree in English Literature from the University of Arizona and resides in Brooklyn, New York with her husband.
ROBERT GUERRERO, Vice President, NYC & North America Catalyst
Robert Guerrero works toward catalyzing networks of existing churches in the city.
Born to Dominican parents in New York City, Robert has spent much of his life in both the U.S. and Dominican Republic. He earned a degree in theology from Moody Bible Institute and during his studies was active in the ministry of Lawndale Community Church, Chicago, as well as planting La Villita Community Church. In 1995, Robert and his wife moved into the Colonial City of Santo Domingo where they planted Iglesia Comunitaria Cristiana (ICC) with a focus on justice and compassion for the most under-resourced in the community.
Robert is also the co-founder of the Coordinating Community of Del Camino Network for Integral Mission in Latin America with networks in Costa Rica, Argentina, Chile, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Brazil and the Dominican Republic.
CHRISTINA JUNG, Manager, Movement Strategic Services
Christina serves as the Program Manager for the Movement Strategic Services team by assisting special projects that are taking place around the world with City to City.
Born in Seoul, Korea, growing up in East Coast America, and living in different parts of the world at various points in her life, Christina developed a love of learning about and fully experiencing different cultures and people. She also loves seeing how the same gospel translates across different regions and cultures. Currently, Christina lives in New Jersey, but loves working in the city. She enjoys traveling, reading, visiting art museums, and indulging in all of the world’s cuisines.
DENNAE PIERRE, Vice President, Movement Dynamics
Dennae Pierre is VP of Movement for RCTC. She also serves as the co-Director for Surge Network, CTCNA, and The Crete Collective and lives in downtown Phoenix, AZ.
Dennae has been involved in church planting, community development, immigration reform, and founded Arizona Foster Care Initiatives. Dennae has her MA from Covenant Theological Seminary and DMin from Western Theological Seminary (Holland, MI) and is the author of Healing Prayers & Meditations to Resist a Violent World. Dennae is married to Vermon, the lead pastor of Roosevelt Community Church and together they have five children.
DAVID WHITEHEAD, Senior Director, Global Coaching
David has been in ministry for over 40 years and brings a diversity of experience to the City to City world. David’s early background as an atheist has given him a unique perspective that has helped many Christians navigate mainstream culture. David moved to New York City after 9/11 and after 17 years of planting churches in the area he joined the City to City team in coaching.
David is certified as a coach with CoachNet and as a coach trainer with City to City and Church Multiplication Ministries. He has coached a wide diversity of Christian leaders around the world and has been establishing coaching networks globally to serve key cities.
David and his wife, Kathleen, have two adult daughters and live in Franklin, TN.
