I am RCPC's Director of Global Training. That means I have the privilege of designing our new 2 year transformational curriculum for urban church planters and then field-testing and contextualizing it in global cities. My vision is to see a worldwide cadre of passionate adult educators collaborating together in the service of gospel church planting in every city in  which we work. 
 
I've been involved in ministry training and church planting overseas, as well as in the U.S., most recently planting Church of the Redeemer in Atlanta. It was while I was living (and failing) in Madrid that I realized, 'I have all the answers and none of the questions.' Culture and tradition had rendered most of my seminary education obsolete. So I took a Ph.D. in anthropology with an emphasis in adult education and spiritual formation, which offered me an understanding of how epistemology, ethos, and cultural values impact our quest to know God and each other. 

I'm married to Shari, the most amazing person I've ever known. She is the founder/director of Parakaleo, a ministry dedicated to the care and nurture of church planting couples. After 27 years, we're still madly in love and living on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
