Duplicating the model or quenching the Spirit?

There seems to be a lot of "formula" these days for planting or growing churches.
We look at big successful churches and do things they way they did them -- hoping to catch a little bit of the same fire.
I'm just wondering. Shouldn't we look to the Spirit, rather than man's successes?
